What do guys like? Beer, cars, and solving problems. So, what do you get when you bring a group of 20 guys together? A team of brothers-in-beer who drives around to make sure that beer is enjoyed by those who need it, when they need it.
As the Van Sales Team of Jebsen Beer, we take pride in this uniquely specialised job.
It has been an opportunity like no other: being able to deliver this drink that many of us love, with people who care about what we do, while being trusted by customers as their long-term business partners.
In response to our customers’ preference for personalised beer delivery service, Jebsen knew that it needed a dedicated team to directly liaise with customers around Hong Kong. Since then, we have been showing up not just to deliver beer, but also to take orders and advise customers on their current and future needs.
Thanks to Jebsen’s culture of service excellence, we place ourselves in the shoes of our customers, allowing us to be proactive in ensuring that beer is always available. After all, we know the value of an iced cold beer for special occasions, and understand the emptiness in any room when it isn't available. For this, we strive to deliver beyond expectations. We go out of our way to deliver the products up to each floor at the customers’ outlets, check the stock and advise customers when more are needed – especially in anticipation of an event or a holiday – and organising accordingly.
This empathy extends to our peers too. As teammates, we volunteer to help each other finishing their work, loading and fulfilling extra orders when our own individual deliveries are done. Not only that, we have become so in sync with each other's needs that we naturally attend to the safety and productivity of one another, reminding one another to use the protective equipment and resources provided to us.
"How do we respond to delivery needs faster?" and "How do we sell more beer?" are the challenges we solve together, one would say, "in transit," as we are constantly finding ways to work better. For instance, from using two vehicles to deliver beer to same districts, we strategised on redesigning our delivery routes so there aren’t any duplication. This boosts our efficiency and allows us to spend more time with our customers, and remain attuned to their needs.
Each day, we feel the “brotherhood” of the Van Sales Team growing stronger, and this special bond gives us the confidence and incentive to keep coming up with new solutions that boost productivity. After all, we understand that continued success of the team meant the continued success of our customers, too.
At the end of the day, we are grateful to be working alongside each other, and we raise our glasses to more things we can do better, together.
